SMS Messaging Terms

Filtered uses SMS messaging to deliver filtered co-parent communications directly to your phone. This page explains how our SMS service works and your rights regarding text messages.
Opt-In and Consent
When you sign up for Filtered, you explicitly consent to receive SMS messages by:
- Creating an account and agreeing to our Terms of Service
- Completing the onboarding process and accepting a dedicated Filtered phone number
- Providing your co-parent with your Filtered number for communication
By completing these steps, you provide your express written consent to receive SMS messages from Filtered at the phone number you provide.
Types of Messages
You may receive the following types of SMS messages from Filtered:
- Filtered Messages: Forwarded messages from your co-parent that have been processed by our AI to remove hostile or harmful content
- Emergency Alerts: Immediate notifications for time-sensitive matters involving your children's safety or urgent schedule changes
- Service Notifications: Important updates about your account, subscription, or service changes
- Delivery Confirmations: Notifications that your messages have been sent successfully
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your co-parent's communication patterns. On average, users receive between 1-20 messages per week, but this can vary significantly. You have full control over notification settings within the Filtered app, allowing you to customize which messages trigger SMS alerts.

How to Opt Out
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time using any of these methods:
- Text STOP: Reply STOP to any message from your Filtered number to immediately stop receiving SMS messages
- App Settings: Navigate to Settings > Notifications in the Filtered app and disable SMS notifications
- Contact Support: Email us at alec@kleinmanventures.com to request SMS opt-out
After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message. You can continue to use the Filtered app to view messages, but will no longer receive SMS notifications.
Re-Subscribing
If you previously opted out and wish to receive SMS messages again:
- Text START to your Filtered number, or
- Enable SMS notifications in your app settings, or
- Contact us at alec@kleinmanventures.com
Costs and Carrier Fees
Filtered does not charge per-message fees to users. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Please check with your carrier regarding your SMS plan and any applicable charges.
Supported Carriers
Filtered SMS messages are supported by all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Your phone number and message data are protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Message content is encrypted and securely stored.

Changes to SMS Terms
We may update these SMS terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the app. Continued use of SMS features after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
